GovernorBenedict Bengioushuye Ayade isa Nigerian politician and the Executive governorof the Cross River State of Nigeria..
He obtained his B.Sc. (Honors) in Microbiology at Ambrose Alli University,Ekpoma and earned his PhD at the University of Ibadan, winning the BestDoctoral Dissertation Award in Environmental Microbiology.
Afterhis university education, Benedict got a job as a lecturer at Delta StateUniversity, Abraka where he was also subsequently appointed Professor.
BenedictAyade later joined politics by becoming a member of the People DemocraticParty. In April 9, 2011, BenedictBengioushuye Ayade contested for the position of a Senator and won.During his term in the senate, he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Senatecommittee on Environment and Ecology. He was also a member of other senatecommittees such as committees on Education, Marine Transport,Petroleum Downstream, and Drugs/Narcotics/Crime etc.
On April 11, 2015, Benedict contested for, and won electionas the governor of Cross River State of Nigeria and has been named the bestgovernor.
Governor Ayade is applauded for his effortsto attract foreign investors to actualize the signature projects such as theestablishment of the Cross River Garment Factory, which is the biggest inAfrica, modernization of primary health care centers and construction of CalabarPharmaceutical Company and Rice City which will serve to provide food, thusboosting the economy of the state.
Aside from creation of wealth throughinfrastructural development, the progressive idea to establish the Green Policeto protect the environment, especially the rain forest, represents another areayour administration continues to create direct employment for the youths whileprotecting the environment. You have also completed the mono-rail to link theCICC with Tinapa, and sections of Unicem Road.
